Kegeling - a very healthy habit

The word "habit" is often associated with the word "bad".
However the dictionary tells us that a habit is "A recurrent,
often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent
repetition" No mention of "bad" here! We can and do develop
habits to help us in numerous ways. Locking the door of the car
when you leave it, cleaning your teeth morning and night and washing
up after a meal are all habits that many of us have developed and
which serve us well. For most of us - there is no great effort involved
in remembering to do these things - they are pretty much unconscious
patterns of behavior that we have developed through doing them
a lot.
My suggestion is to make kegeling a habit. To do this
you need first of all to understand and become comfortable with
how to do your kegel (pelvic floor) exercises. You can do this by
downloading the song 'Do the Kegel' and using it and the information
in this site to inspire and motivate you to practice the exercises.
Once you are confident with how to kegel then the next step is to
make it a habit.
Pick a particular time or place or situation that happens regularly
in your life - preferably daily. Most of us drive most days. The
car is a great place to do the kegel. If you have a CD player in
the car you can pop the CD in it and Kegel along as you drive. Soon
you will find that you don't even need the Cd to remember - you
will open the door of the car and you will suddenly feel like kegeling.
You will have developed the unconscious pattern of behavior
or habit.
You can go one step further and switch a "bad" habit
into a healthy habit. You do this by associating your new kegel
habit with a place or time or situation that previously caused you
stress. I have associated kegeling with times whn my computer is
being slow to download or open a file. Instead of getting frustrated
I have programed myself to go - aha it's time to kegel. I switch
those beginning feelings of annoyance into the pleasurable
feelings of kegeling and the satisfaction that I am making good
use of my time.
